Weihua Wang, born in China, emigrated to Germany at the age of 8 years, former City Counsellor, Management Consultant at Boston Consulting Group, Trilingual Moderator, Cartier Young Leader and former Miss Baden-Wuerttemberg, will guide us into her Startup Story around the social startup myBuddy.
myBuddy is an award-winning social tech start-up founded in Mannheim in 2021. Under the motto "simply.grow.together." It promotes cultural togetherness with the aim of developing the latent potential for our society and economy. With contemporary online and offline offers for the young generation, the initiative focuses primarily on formats that are easily accessible and fun for everyone!

myBuddy is an award-winning social tech start-up founded in Mannheim in 2021. Under the motto "simply.grow.together." With contemporary online and offline offers for the young generation, the initiative focuses primarily on formats that are easily accessible and fun for everyone!
myBuddy is an affair of the heart for the founder Weihua Wang. Without realizing it, she laid the foundation in 2018 in her capacity as Germany’s youth delegate for the Council of Europe with a project of the same name.

Through her personal childhood immigration story, Weihua Wang, the founder of the initiative myBuddy, knows the inner turmoil that arises when a young person searches for their own identity between two cultures. At some point she has realized that her perspective into two worlds allowed her establishing an open, curious and reflected personality. This turned out to be a real strength on her personal and professional path. Based on her personal growth story, she wishes to support our changing society to find an appropriate way to deal with our (cultural) diversity. Last week when named as Top 100 Women for Diversity 2023, Weihua wrote on LinkedIn: “I really hope that we never forget the “WE” as a society despite our heterogeneity, get to know and love our differences, are able to rub against each other in order to grow stronger out of that, give everyone the same opportunity because we see the enormous potential for society and the economy and that we can join forces to develop our diversity into our collective strength.”
Through her numerous experiences in politics, economy and society as e.g. the youngest former city councillor, management consultant at the Boston Consulting Group, trilingual moderator, Cartier Young Leader, board member of the Social Entrepreneurship Network Germany e.V. or as Miss Baden-Württemberg - she encourages the exchange not only between cultures, but also between religions, generations, professional groups and social classes, she encourages exchange and cooperation.

In cooperation with FocusFrauen, the women's advancement initiative of the University of Worms, the GründungsWerkstatt is launching a series of initiatives aimed especially at interested female students. Through lounge events with successful female entrepreneurs and seminars, we want to inspire and motivate, to whet the appetite for entrepreneurial initiative!
